Who We Are

Queensland's Peak Body representing transgender, gender diverse and non-binary folx since 1990

ATSAQ began in 1990, to help, advise, and assist the transgender community. It has expanded from it's early days to include all gender diverse and non-binary folx.  It is an organisation of peers and allies, and provides psychosocial support to people who identify as transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse; their families, friends, allies, and professionals.

We also educate the public on issues relating gender diverse communities, and advocate to combat discrimination. We liaise with all forms of government to assist in better policy practices and  we work with medical and other professionals to ensure better outcomes for our communities.

ATSAQ is a confidential, non-profit, NGO. From inception, we continue to be unfunded and rely solely on donations and membership for financial support. Membership is available to individuals, couples, and professionals. Annual Membership is $30.00 single, $50.00 per couple, or $50.00 for professionals. Membership includes a reduction of the luncheon costs and a yearly digital subscription of ATSAQ's newsletter 'ATSAQ Update'. In addition any donations of $2.00 or over are tax deductible.
